Asbestos inventory before demolition or renovation works

Before you demolish, renovate or dismantle, you must know where the asbestos is. An asbestos inventory (asbestinventaris) maps it out, so your contractor can work safely and by the rules. Boengi makes the inventory legally correct and, if needed, destructive.

What is it?

What is an asbestos inventory?

An asbestos inventory is a list of all asbestos-containing materials in a building or structure, with their location, quantity and condition. Where needed, the expert takes samples for lab analysis.

In a destructive inventory, we also open up walls, floors or ceilings. That way we find hidden asbestos that would otherwise only come to light during the works.

No surprises on site

Unexpected asbestos brings a site to a halt and costs money. A thorough inventory beforehand keeps your schedule and budget under control.

Required among others under the Code on Well-being at Work and the Flemish rules for demolition permits. (to be confirmed)

Frequently asked questions

Questions about the asbestos inventory.

Before demolition, renovation or dismantling works on buildings or structures that may contain asbestos. In Flanders, it is often also part of the application for an environmental permit (omgevingsvergunning) for demolition. (to be confirmed)

An asbestos certificate is needed for a sale and is non-destructive. An inventory is needed before works and goes deeper, destructively if needed. See the table above.

Sometimes as a starting point, but usually not in full. For works, hidden asbestos must also be mapped. We check whether your certificate is enough.

That depends on the size of the building and the lab. For a home, allow 1 to 2 weeks. Urgent? Let us know.
