What does quality control involve?
In quality control, we check the work on site against the specifications, the plans and your own standards. We look at what is going well, and what needs to improve.
We mainly work for utilities and civil works, such as fibre-optic roll-outs. These involve hundreds of trenches and connections. Regular, independent checks then keep quality high.
Checks that help, not just tick boxes
We record findings and think along with you. Every report ends with practical recommendations for your contractors.
What do we look at?
A few examples of checks we often carry out:
- Trenches and reinstatement: depth, backfill and compaction.
- Paving and surfacing: correctly relaid, without subsidence.
- Cables, pipes and connections: position, distance to other utilities, marking.
- Signage and site layout: safe for workers and passers-by.
- Handover: does the result match the specifications and plans?
